Happy Tuesday All~

I finished my BQ2 quilt Sunday evening and I did it in just 4 hours. Yay me! I am getting faster and I can actually follow patterns now! Now debating whether or not I should add a stunning border! I think I'm leaning towards yes and its not an excuse so I can go buy more fabric. Awwwhh the decisions of a quilter. Currently it measures 54"x72". This is a large lap size quilt.

TGIF fellow bloggers!  Being snowed in this past week gave me the opportunity to finish my quilt top I have been working on with my mother-in-law.  It was a year's long class and each month one row was completed. Each month covered a different set of blocks and techniques.  I still have to add a 2.5 inch black border all
the way around the piano keys and then hunt for some backing.  I am very proud of this quilt.  Can't wait for it to be quilted! (couldn't get a great pic but I am too excited not to post)

Taaaa Dahhhhh!  Quilt Top Complete!

Happy Sunday All!  I finished a quilt for my daughter yesterday and I am very pleased the way it turned out.  It is only a lap size but it will be great to use in the car especially when we go on our camping trips.  The best part about it was I used all scraps and yardage I had for the border and the flannel backing.  I also embroidered on one of the blocks which I held my breath while doing since I am new at embroidering and my quilt was already pieced.  My daughter Samantha loves animals especially cats and dogs so this quilt features doggies.

Hello Bloggers and TGIF!  Spring is officially 40 days away but with all this snow and freezing weather we have been having in New York its hard to think Spring.  This past Wednesday we got over a foot of snow and which made it impossible for me to go to work.  Literally being snowed in meant only one thing for me, SEW TIME - YAY!!!!  So determined to think Spring I decided to pull out some Bali Pops I purchased about 2 years ago with beautiful Spring colors.  Not really knowing what to make with these strips I remembered I have been recently looking at Jelly Roll quilts and decided to go for it.

I sewed all the strips together as I had seen in tutorials and couldn't believe how easy and fun this was. Every time I added another strip my eyes lit up with the beautiful color combination I saw forming in front in front of my eyes.  I just wanted to keep going so I could see the grand result.  If you have trouble putting colors together buy a jelly roll or bali pop and you will have a beautiful quilt with little effort.

This was the result and I am totally in love with it and plan on making more!  If you haven't made a Jelly Roll quilt I strongly recommend making one.  The result is beautiful!  Now to find the perfect backing fabric and prepare to send it off to my long arm quilter! Yay for me and I did it in a few hours! Talk about an easy, fun and quick quilt to make.
